2 Days Ago07/16/2012I'd be quite curious to hear about how Stripe will handle security. Since the article does not mentions security even in passing, it gives me the impression that security is an after thought. Just the impression, and it of course may not be the case... so I'm curious. Generally, I would rather not use my phone for financial transactions until the phones themselves prove no longer vulnerable to hackers. Since I have not heard any updates on that I'm going to assume that "smart phones" are still vulnerable to hackers, and based on that I won't be using Stripe or Square or anything else like it... not until the security issues are resolved.

Not so crazy about insecure phones that also want to manage my finances. In general I'd rather just avoid the whole thing until independent sources verify that the phones are actually secure. Then I'll be happy to look into using them for Stripe or whatever the smart transaction of the day happens to be. Until then... thanks, but no thanks.
